Lynette Vigrass (teacher)

Kia ora koutou,

My name is Lynette Vigrass and I have been teaching piano for over 30 years, mainly from my home studio but also at several local schools.

I teach children, teens and adults. I love to see my students playing pieces of music that they enjoy, creating their own compositions and improvisations, gaining mastery over the language of music and having fun playing music games that widen their musical knowledge.

I plan my lessons to encompass appropriate technique, music reading, theory, improvisation, aural training and music interpretation, with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment. Lessons are planned within the framework of a broad music curriculum to ensure steady progress is being made.

Playing an instrument promotes good coordination and fine motor skills and activates brain development.

It’s wonderful to open the fabulous world of piano repertoire, both classical and contemporary, to students.
